Rather than build on the foundation of a solo campaign mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is to launch with new variations on its traditional multiplayer, the series' Zombies mode, and the battle royale genre.
Having jettisoned the franchise's dedicated solo campaign mode, story elements will be integrated into the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 instead.
