HELSINKI: Nokia Corp’s second-quarter net profit fell 40% to 227mil euro (RM939mil) as the world’s largest mobile phone maker lost market share and sales remained flat. Analysts, however, noted its sales of smartphones were better than expected.
The profit was down from a net profit of 380mil euro (RM1.6bil) in the same period last year, the company said. Revenue grew a mere 1% in the period to 10bil euro (RM41bil) from 9.9bil euro (RM40.9bil) a year earlier.
