Represent Malaysia in eSports for the 2019 SEA Games

ESM is now holding a nationwide player selection for the 2019 SEA Games — Esports Malaysia

Esports Malaysia (ESM) has just announced via their Facebook page that they will be holding a nationwide eSports player selection to find Malaysian representatives for the 2019 SEA Games.

The national selection will be divided into three stages – online state qualifiers, with the winners of the online state qualifiers moving on to the national grand finals, and finally a boot camp leading up to the 2019 SEA Games. The five games that gamers will be competing in are Dota 2, StarCraft II, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Arena Of Valor (AOV) and Tekken 7.

The champion of the Dota 2 grand finals, the top four players of the StarCraft II grand finals, the top two players of the Tekken 7 grand finals, the top two teams of the MLBB grand finals and the top two teams of the AOV grand finals will qualify for the boot camp.

Acting president of ESM Datuk Ananth S. Nathan said “the inclusion of eSports into the 30th edition of the SEA Games is a giant leap for the national body as well as our state associations and marks a major milestone in the expansion of eSports here”.

Registration for qualifier events is currently open on the ESM website to all Malaysians over the age of 13, with those under 18 requiring parental consent, and in possession of a valid passport.

The qualifiers will be held in every Malaysian state starting with Kelantan on April 5. Registration will be closed two days before the qualifier. For more details on when and where the qualifiers are being held, check out the ESM website and Facebook page.

The 2019 SEA Games will take place in the Philippines on Nov 30 to Dec 11.
