MELAKA: Famous for its nightlife, Taman Melaka Raya, however, is believed to be attracting the wrong type of patrons – students and teenagers, a state exco member has claimed. State Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman Low Chee Leong said the case where five policemen were arrested for drug abuse at a nightclub together with a 14-year-old was an “eye-opener”.
“I was told by the Melaka Anti-Drug Agency that students were also patronising nightclubs at the state’s commercial hub and indulging in drug abuse,” he said yesterday.
