Penang police smash drug syndicates, drugs worth over RM500k seized

GEORGE TOWN: Police busted two separate drug distribution syndicates and seized RM510,820 worth of drugs during five raids here.

Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran said the Penang Contingent Narcotics Crime Investigations Department and the Northeast District Narcotics Crime Investigations Department conducted the raids in Tanjung Tokong and Jelutong from May 18 until 21.

Among the substances seized were six packs of unknown narcotic packed under the guise of traditional Chinese tea packaging. They are now being tested to determine their exact nature.
