Court rejects Mohamed Tawfik's originating summons on RUU 355

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The High Court here has rejected the originating summons filed by former Sungai Benut MP Mohamed Tawfik Tun Dr Ismail against former Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia and Dewan Rakyat secretary Datuk Roosme Hamzah in connection with the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Bill 2016 or RUU 355.

Judge Nordin Hassan made the decision after allowing the preliminary objection filed by Pandikar Amin and Roosme, as the defendants in the case, on March 31, 2017.
