We returned RM1mil linked to 1MDB funds, says Upko

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Parti Upko returned the RM1mil it received from former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s account that has been linked to the 1MDB scandal.

Upko president Datuk Madius Tangau said the party returned the money a month before the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC) started the civil forfeiture suit to recover some RM270mil from some 41 entities under the Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.“We did not know the source of the money.
