KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry has increased the excise duty for locally-produced hard liquor by 150%, which is expected to affect sales domestically.
However, Malaysian Liquor Manufacturers and Bottlers Association deputy secretary Ngan Meow Yiap said the increased duty would not be applied on imported hard liquors.
