PETALING JAYA: After days of silence, Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz has commented on his recent sacking from PKR.

The Santubong PKR Youth chief said although he respected the decision made by the party, he will be making an appeal with regards to the matter, without mentioning any specific time frame.

"I was punished just because I urged the MACC (Malaysian-Anti Corruption Commission) to investigate claims of corruption thrown at (Economics Affairs Minister Datuk Seri) Azmin Ali.

"It's not like I was accusing Azmin Ali is corrupt without proof. I was only urging that the claims made were investigated, as the people have the right to know the truth," he said on Facebook.

On Wednesday (July 3), PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the decision to sack Haziq from the party after it's weekly political bureau meeting.

He said Haziq, who was Shamsul Iskandar's senior private secretary, was expelled because he had accused the party leadership of corruption without providing evidence.

The accusation was made after publicly confessing that he and the party’s deputy president Azmin Ali were the two men in a viral sex video.
