BANGKOK: Thailand will begin a three-month campaign in April to stop the pirating of music and video compact discs, a government minister said yesterday, a third of the way into the country's self-declared and deadly “war on drugs.” 

“On April 1 the prime minister will officially announce measures to crack down on fake discs,” deputy commerce minister Wattana Muangsuk said. “The authorities will carefully scrutinise every square inch (of the country) in order to eradicate fake discs,” he said, echoing the prime minister's vow to rid Thailand of methamphetamines.
