JOHOR BARU: A total of five have tested positive after random drug tests were conducted on 274 civil servants since the beginning of the year.
Johor Health and Environment exco Datuk Ayub Rahmat described the test results as worrying as the random tests were only conducted on a small number of civil servants.
"We are planning to ensure that all civil servants in the state undergo drug tests starting January next year and the numbers of those who test positive may increase once that is initiated, " he said after attending an awards ceremony by the state National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) here on Monday..
Ayub added that civil servants should be exemplary to the society and hopefully once the program is launched, AADK can identify civil servants who have problems with drug abuse and rehabilite them.
