PETALING JAYA: The national team received the perfect tonic ahead of the 2022 World Cup - 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers after edging 10-man Tajikistan 1-0 in a friendly match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Forward Safawi Rasid was on target in the 72nd minute to help world No. 158 Malaysia to overcome No.116 Tajikistan on Saturday (Nov 9).
