I REFER to your report “Broga Hill to be closed temporarily” (StarMetro, Aug 23) and commend the authorities for taking steps to enable restoration work to begin due to unauthorised slope clearing and terracing works.
It is shocking that the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) was allowed to prepare the hillslope for the planting of rubber trees on behalf of the Orang Asli Development Department without checking with the state on whether it was allowed.
