ALTHOUGH the Gombak parliamentary seat was won by PKR in the last two elections, Barisan Nasional remains positive about making inroads in the constituency in the coming GE14.
Barisan candidate Datuk Abdul Rahim Pandak Kamarudin has vowed to overcome three key issues in the district if he gets elected.
“The three matters that I will tackle if we can capture the state are water problems, cleanliness and affordable housing,” he said, when met at the Kemas (Community Development Department) Parlimen Gombak Teachers’ Day event in Kampung Sungai Tua, Gombak on Thursday.
The event was attended by over 300 Kemas teachers, officers, supervisors and community volunteers, as well as BN candidate for the Sungai Tua state seat, Datuk N Rawisandran.
Abdul Rahim claimed that the dengue problem in Selangor, especially in Gombak, was due to accumulated rubbish in the area collecting stagnant water.
“This means our infrastructure, especially our drains, are not well-managed.
