A POPULAR restaurant in Jalan Perak has been ordered to close for 14 days after inspection by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) Licensing Department officers found rat droppings and cockroaches in its premises.
According to MBPP senior assistant environmental health officer Goh Chun Eng, the owner had failed to meet the hygiene standard and the closure order was issued under Section 38 (1) of the Food Establishment Act Bylaws 1991.
