JOHOR BARU: Urban dwellers are advised to be prepared for flash floods during the rainy season from next month until early next year as predicted by the Meteorological Department.

Johor Baru City council (MBJB) Mayor Datuk Amran A. Rahman said apart from the predicted heavy rain, ongoing construction works in areas under MBJB’s jurisdiction could also lead to flash floods.“Strong winds could uproot trees and cause damage to roads and public infrastructure, as well as cause power disruption, ’’ he said.
