PENANG plans to introduce an eco-friendly power-generating system which can turn sewage from pig and chicken farms into biogas to generate electricity.

State Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said they were in the midst of discussions with a private firm and would announce more details once the ground work had been set.
