Tourism contributes RM42bil to economy


The first half of 2018 saw 12,730,368 visitors who brought in contributions totalling RM39bil. It was reported in late May that Malaysian tourism is the third largest foreign income earner, after manufacturing and palm oil industry. Tourism accounts for over 7% of the country economy.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia welcomed 13.35 million international tourists and recorded a 6.8% growth in tourist receipts, contributing RM41.69bil to the country’s revenue during the first half of 2019.
