WHEN my international passport expired, I applied for a restricted five-year passport for travel between Singapore and Malaysia. However, I was only given a period of one year simply because of the address in my identity card, which was my address in Sabah.  

I am quite baffled by the way officers at the Immigration Department did their work as I had to make a few trips in order to have my passport done. On each trip, I was told to produce different documents.
