I REFER to the report “Chef’s wife forced to relieve herself by the side of highway” (The Star, June 12; https://bit.ly/2R9Hk0Y). PLUS takes this opportunity to thank The Star for its continuous support in updating readers on our initiatives and approaches in facilitating smoother and safer travel on the North-South Expressway this Hari Raya season.

As part of a collaborative effort among the police, PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) together with the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) to ease traffic flow at critical stretches of the North-South Expressway (NSE), the Sungai Perak Rest and Service Area (RSA) and Simpang Pulai lay-by were intermittently closed on Sunday, June 9, as our highway customers journeyed back to the Klang Valley.
