Izzue Islam's portrayal of a visually-impaired man in 29 Februari won him a Best Promising Actor award at the Malaysia Film Festival in 2013.

In conjunction with Merdeka Day, Astro will be airing films made by Malaysians from today until Malaysia Day (Sept 16).

Astro chief operating officer Henry Tan shares the idea behind this year’s Negaraku campaign: “We are excited to celebrate Malaysian cinema, profiling Malaysian actors and directors involved in Malaysian films both locally and internationally.”
